IT'S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

what i read:

I finished the Persusasion readalong with UNPUTDOWNABLES
I didn't review the book here.  I will try to garner enough excitement this week to do so, but it was definitely not a favorite read.    If you're interested in readalong-ing Crime and Punishment, check out the schedule at Unputdownables.

The Light Between the Oceans by M.L. Stedman, on the other hand, was an excellent read.  Check out my review HERE

what i am reading:

I have Lowe's memoir on audio.  The completion of this book will be directly linked to my willingness to run.  I'm sure you will be able to see that I am struggling with my winter running just by how long this book sits in my current reading pile.

Little Wolves by Thomas Maltman is creepy in a very good and appropriate sort of way.  It tells the story of the aftermath when a small town boy sets out on a shooting rampage.  The rest of my review will be on BookBelle sometime this week.

what i'm reading next:

Unless something else grabs my attention...

  1. I wanted Light Between to be a happy story, but I knew from page one that it would not be so.

My It's Monday! What Are You Reading?! is here. Hope you will stop by!

    1. No, it wasn't going to be happy was it?

  2. Awwwwww!
Jogging is hard in the winter. When it's not cold it's drab.
    Good luck!

  3. I really enjoyed the Robb Lowe book! I listened to it on audio, narrated by him and was really impressed. Have a super week!

  4. So many books that look good! I really think Little Wolves sounds amazing. I am excited for your review.

Death of Bees, The Good House both look great! And I have had Call of the Midwife (the first one?) on my TBR since you read it and loved it. :) Have a great week of reading Belle!

    1. Did you possibly read that at Alexis' blog? That's where I got the idea.

  6. Your "next" books all look good. Well, The Death of Bees, I actually read myself and it was one of my favorites for last year. Hope you have a good week!

  7. I've heard good things about the Rob Lowe book, hope you like it. I want to read Bees so stinking bad, can't wait to hear what you think about it!

  8. Great to hear that you are still trying to run in the winter. There has been snow on the ground here over the last week or so which makes it impossible for me. I also find that I can run down to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit then it is just too cold. However, I do go to the gym when I cannot be outside.

I find that listening to audiobooks helps keep me motivated to exercise!

    1. Brian: I'm from the cold up north. 20 degrees would be balmy to me and I would be very happy to see that again. What I cannot tolerate outside is the ice. I shiver at the thought of breaking a bone at this point in time. I am ready, however, to go buy some outdoor running clothes and head out ice or no ice. That dang treadmill is going to be the death of me!

    2. Indeed one needs to be really carful about falls. Just got back from the gym myself. Good luck!

  10. I'm sad you didn't love PERSUASION because I admit that I LOVED it. Always have. It's my second favorite Austen next to PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.

Oh well, we can't all love the same books - think how boring that would be. I'm currently in the middle of a Georgette Heyer Indulgence, loading up with her books from the library. My favorite of the recent group is COTILLION. Have you read that one yet? I reviewed it his past week. When was the last time a Regency made you howl with laughter? This one will.

I like your new heading. That photo has always been a favorite of mine.

  11. Not sure I could read a book about a shooting. Of course I did when I read About Kevin, but I had no idea it was going there. Very difficult read.
