BOOKS I'D HAND SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE TO READ

Brought to us by The Broke and The Bookish

5 for boys who swear they do not like to read and you can't make them, so there!  And then 5 and a few to spare for moms that insist they don't have time to read!

When you've had one of those really trying days and can't remember why you dreamed of having babies in the first place, pile everyone into the car and head to your local library.  You should be able to find at least some of these sitting on the shelves just waiting to make everything all better again.

  1. Nice list - you are right - we do seem to have the same book tastes.

I love all of the kids' books you recommended here, but oddly enough, I haven't read any of the grown-up books you've listed - will have to look for these!

  2. OMG. Your blog is so cute! I've got The Lightening Thief sitting on my shelf and I've not read it yet. I know I'll love it.

  4. The Lightening Thief was great and I've been wanting to pick up the Narnia books.

  5. LITTLE HOUSE IN THE BIG WOODS is one of my favorites! So great. And I'm intrigued by the REDWALL series too!

  6. My own personal feeling is that anyone who picks up REDWALL and can't get with the program, simply will not be a reader. Sad, but true.

I haven't read the any of the other books on your list, Belle, but I'm adding a couple of names to my TBR list. :)

  7. What a cool list.
I have a book to add to the "boys who swear they do not like to read" list.
Airborn by Kenneth Oppel. I just finished the audio and it's grand.

  8. Always looking for a book that will knock our boy's socks off! I'll probably wait a while before I try the Hobbit, but I might try Percy Jackson sooner rather than later.

  9. Nice list, targeting two reading-averse groups. Always looking for books about parenting, relationships and all the other nitty-gritty topics of everyday life that aren't always romantic or exciting.
