I figure if I can still remember the book by this time, it must have been pretty good. Here's 11 that have stuck with me:
1. Making Time, Lillian Moller Gilbreth A Life Beyond a Cheaper By The Dozen by Jane Lancaster (Read All About It Here)
2. The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown (Find Out Why I Was So Into It Here)
3. Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr (Why Everyone Needs a Little Faery In Their Life)
4. P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern (If You Need To Let Some Tears Go)
5. Born Under A Lucky Moon by Dana Precious (For Those of You Who Still Try To Put the Words "Normal" and "Family" Together)
6. Rain Village by Carolyn Turgeon (Strangely, Oddly, Lovely, Beautiful Writing)
7. The Lantern by Deborah Lawrence (An Author Who Blogs Like a Real Person and Not a Celebrity - Plus a Darn Fine Book to Boot)
8. The Bird Sisters by Rebecca Rasmussen (More of That Writing That Transported Me)
9. You Believers by Jane Bradley (Fascinating Stuff)
10. Odd Women by George Gissing (No Review But A Rare Required Reading Book That I Loved)
11. 11/22/63 by Stephen King (No Review But I Read the Whole Thing in 3 days - 848 pages)
BookBelle, the blog, will be quite a bit scaled back for 2012. I'll try to post a monthly update of books read and maybe, just maybe, participate in a few memes. I will not be doing any book challenges, book clubs, advanced reading reviews or anything else that reeks of work to me. I have enough "W" on my plate and need a whole lot more "F" (fun). Cheers to You!

I feel ya on time management. 2012 will be a different kind of year for me too with my new little one. GREAT list btw.
ReplyDeleteCutie JuJu! I love you. And those little ones do have a way of changing one's priorities.
ReplyDeleteWe'll look forward to the end of the month reviews from you. I hope you get a little sanity into your schedule. Having teenagers is alone a juggle--they are always running somewhere! Not to mention everything else you've got on your plate.
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing Stephen King's novel.....so....it must have been good. No creepies or totally freaky, scary scenes, right? (Someone told me it wasn't really scary.)
Happy New Year Belle, hope you have lots of fun and great reading this year also.
ReplyDeleteSame for me. I take the bar this year. Love the list and the short explanations.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Belle! Happy New Year - and thanks very much for the honourable mention, which is greatly appreciated! (I too have discovered it's hard to keep up major blogging and work as well. Let's aim for quality not quantity!)
ReplyDeleteHeidi: It's a very "uncreepy" Stephen King and I really love the 1960s so it was a neat look at home life from that era.
ReplyDeleteMarce: Happy New Year to you too! I hope we both find the books of our dreams this year.
Alexis: Time flies! The bar - how great is that? I will hopefully have my BA at the end of this year.
Deborah: Quality not quantity. I'm there. I like it.
The Weird Sisters is on my wishlist, I think I can thank you for that. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Rain Village! You had a good book year :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy 2012!
Ellie - Long time no see! You will like it.
ReplyDeleteSarah - Rain Village is just plain cool. It will suck you in.
Ahhh thanks! And you are SO right.
ReplyDeleteWow, so glad to see that you've resurfaced for a while. I'm in awe of everything you've accomplished this year--well done, you! You Believers is the only book on your list that I've read, but I agree that it's memorable. I'm definitely interested in the King since it's not scary/horror stuff, which I roundly refuse to read.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you! I know how crazy life can get. My blogging volume has been a lot lighter lately, and instead of just amping it up I want to find a way to streamline it somewhat. I totally agree about less challenges or things that seem like Work. Also, I've been itching to get my hands on 11/22/63 so I'm glad to hear you liked it!
