what i read:

The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern. You can read my review HERE
Tamara is a snappy seventeen year old who refuses to be bullied by her Aunt Rosalene.
what i am reading:

Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris, the author of the Sookie Stackhouse books. IMO, this 4 book series should have went on longer. Harper Connelly is a lovely character and there are many subplots that could be explored. I would like to think we will get some closure on Harper's missing sister, Cameron before the series ends.

The Bird Sisters by Rebecca Rasmussen. Hot diggity! I discovered the e-book library rental program recently but apparently not too many others have in my county. My on hold books are popping up faster than I can blink my eyes and I can only check them out once.
Enjoy your reading week!

The Bird Sisters has appeared on my radar several times over the last few weeks. I need to check it out....

I read The Book of Tomorrow earlier this year and really liked it. Glad you enjoyed it too! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHi Belle, I posted this on my blog as well but wanted to put it here where you can read it quicker :)
ReplyDeleteThe gist is most certainly to read a genre you might not necessarily read, and I don't want you to think because I choose to step out, that Marce and Christine won't join in. This month is a packed month for me. My dd's br. shower is on the 28th and it's in my home and I am doing the whole shebang myself, from invites, to the food and favors, and I don't know what I'll get to read, that said, I have tried YA many times and have a very hard time with it.
You are NOT a book club killer :) Again, I just might be able to do it, and read it to my younger children (7 & 11) I do have an I author on my shelf, but it's the 3rd in the series, Larissa Ione, and none on my kinde. The only other author I can think of is Greg Iles.
Don't change your book choice for me please, Marce and I are psycho thriller fiends, the bloodier the better, and at some point I would think one of us are going to choose one of those to read and fully understand that not all can handle that heavy thriller. I have said before and will say again, give it a shot, but if you can't hack the book, close it and move on.
Your idea of having one of the young ones put in their opinion is just an awesome one! So please don't change on my behalf. I am a very easy going person and don't take offense at those who don't want to participate for that month, we are all different in our likes and I will always give something at least a shot. Our club is only 4 strong,so if one drops out for the month it seems harsh. If we could only get 2 or 3 more gals to jump in I think it'd be awesome, but I don't want you to leave or end the club. Life sometimes gets in the way too :) If I've offended you Belle, I apologize :)

Is this Ahern as good as P.S. I Love You? For whatever reason our county library system doesn't have ebooks yet. Well, they have eresources, but no novels. What's up with that?
ReplyDeleteNice :) Happy week and reading :)
