In My Mailbox, hosted by The Story Siren, is a way for everyone to show their new books for the week, including those bought, swapped, won, or received for review.
Last week, I imposed a book buying ban on myself. It lasted twelve hours. Today, I pay tribute to the blogs where I find all these great books that I keep buying. It is the blogger reviews of books that I trust and convince me to buy books on a weekly basis. Here's where I found my inspiration to read this week:
Big Girl Small by Rachel DeWoskin - recommended by
As The Crowe Flies. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you should do so (and now). She reviews a unique array of books, works in a bookstore and is a good writer as well. You can depend on her to give you something good everytime she posts. I've linked to her review of this book.
Color Me Grey by J.C. Phelps - recommended by Julie at
Reading Without Restraint. Another great blog that is always hopping. There is rarely a day where I do not find a new and interesting post at this blog. I've linked to her review and interview of J.C. Phelps.
Ink Exchange & Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr - recommended by Kate Evangelista at Reads, Reviews and Recommends. This blog is a grand source of inspiration to me. Kate interviews authors, hosts giveaways, reviews books I would never think to pick up (the Wicked Lovely series) and is a writer to boot. I've given a general link to her blog. There is always something new and fresh to read.
Still Life With Husband by Lauren Fox - This is my choice for an online, blogger book club. Paula at Tome's Devotee has started an Authors by the Alphabet Book Club. This book was chosen by me as the "F" selection for April. Each month a member of the book club selects an author from the next letter of alphabet to read, post a few questions for the other readers to answer on their blogs. I'm only at the "cross your fingers stage" that this book will be good. Everyone is welcome to join. You can find more information HERE.
Thanks to all the bloggers that serve as a source of inspiration to me every day. Who inspires you to read what you do?

I loved the books of Melissa Marr. They´re pretty good. Have fun with them ^^
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to read the next one. They are skipping to the top of the pile.
ReplyDeleteI've been interested in the Melissa Marr books--a former coworker loved them and now she might be coming to our store, so I feel both interested and obliged to familiarize myself with them.
ReplyDeleteJust heard that Big Girl Small's pub date was delayed because book had to go back to press to accommodate some edits. Did you get the ARC of it or a finished copy? (If the latter, I'm very curious to know more!)
I have not read any of these - looks like a great assortment of books. Big Girl Small sounds very intriguing. I've been meaning to read the Melissa Marr books too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books - happy reading!
I loved the conclusion to the Wicked Lovely series. Well done - hope you like it too.
ReplyDeleteI just finished the first three books of the Wicked Lovely series last week. It's going to be a few weeks until I can read the fourth, though. Great mailbox! Have a great week.

Great IMM! I love the Melissa Marr series! Enjoy all your awesome reads!
ReplyDeleteNew follower!
Crowe - I pre-ordered Big Girl Small from your favorite online store (not) when you posted the review and I got it in the mail on Monday I think. It's not an ARC.
ReplyDeleteI think you should read Wicked Lovely.
Great picks this week :) Here's our IMM
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to have to place an order through my not-favorite-store to see if I can get one, too. I'm really surprised! Might have some value if I can get it signed...thanks for letting me know!
ReplyDeleteCrowe - if you cannot get a copy, I will send you my copy. We shouldn't waste the opportunity. Belle
ReplyDeleteOooo I'm wondering what the first one is about :)
ReplyDeleteGreat stack! Here is my IMM :)
Some use the term "enablers!" ;->
ReplyDeleteI could never impose a book buying ban on myself and have it stick.
Deb - Clearly, I cannot either. I think I'm still in my self-discovery phase of life.
ReplyDeleteApparently a finished copy of Big Girl Small cannot be acquired for love or money at this time. Good for you for getting yours! If you ever decide you'd part with it, I would pay you twice what you paid for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I've read Wicked Lovely but haven't read any of the others in the series yet.. I need to though! Great books!
ReplyDeleteUniquely Moi thanks for stopping by! Love your blog. I'll pop over again soon. Belle
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Ooh, I really need to read Wicked Lovely. The covers in that series are just so stunning!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of Melissa Marr's books yet because I'm not that into faeries. I hope you enjoy them though and I'll be dropping by to read your reviews!
