FOLLOW FRIDAY

Follow Friday is brought to us by Parajunkee.

Q. Do you have anyone that you can discuss books with IRL? Tell us about him/her.

A.  It's hard to find someone in IRL that shares my passion about books.  When I'm reading a particular book, I often think that this person or that person would really love it and it will often come up the next time I see that person.  I do come from a family of readers and when we get together, I usually come home with a few new TBR to add to my list.

How about you?  Who do you gab about books with?  I'd love to know.

  2. Sounds great. My family doesn't understand my fascination. At one point my mother asked why I don't go out and party, which is weird since I thought it would be a parent's dream if their children preferred books to partying.

    Have a great weekend :-)

  3. Thanks for visiting my blog, I've returned the favour and you now have a new follower.

I talk to my Mum, where our tastes overlap but luckily there a lot of readers online who I can talk to about other genres that interest me.

  6. Until recently, I never really had anyone to talk to about books. I joined a couple book clubs and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I also have a friend at work that loves to read, so we add to each other's to-read list.

It's great that your family shares your passion for books. I'm definitely the biggest reader in my family with no one coming even close.

Hope you'll stop by and check out my blog!

  7. Thank goodness I have my best friend to gossip over YA books, no one really reads like we do! That's cool you have a reading family, mine either don't read or read genres I'm not interested in.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm following back :]

  9. My family only reads non-fiction so there's not much crossover on our reading lists. Fortunately I have the other Bibliomaniac to talk books...

New Follower! Have a great weekend.

  10. Hi Bookbelle,
Enjoying your blog here - and I'll be following! And I'm feeling a follow-up question's in order: Since you don't currently have "book pals" IRL, I'm assuming that it's in part due to your busy schedule. Do you find that virtual pals like all of us, plus fellow students in your college courses, are enough, or do you long for a book group from time to time?

  14. Laurie: I am busy to the point of being over busy so most times I do not notice that I have no IRL book pals. I just go from one duty to the next to the next. My books are sort of like my own private Idaho. Maybe because in my lit classes, the books can get discussed to death. Thanks for stopping by!

  15. I usually talk to my mom and my sister about books even though they are not as into them as I am. New follower! Looking forward to reading your blog in the future. Have a happy weekend :)

  16. I'm also from a family of readers! I mainly talk about books with my besties though. :)

I saw from your profile that you're pursing an English Lit degree?? I minored in Lit in school and really miss those discussions! Good luck!!

    Also, I'm a new follower! :)

  18. Hopping through. My family likes to read, but it's hard to find someone who is as obsessed with books as me - especially YA.
