Q. Keeping with the dystopian and apocalypse theme that seems to be running rampant on parajunkee.com, I have one very hard question for you: If you were stocking your bomb shelter, what books would you HAVE to include if you only had space for ten?
All chosen for their re-readability, sustainability or reminders of the sweeping saga that is life:
1. To Kill a Mockingbird
2. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
3. Gone with the Wind
4. Thorn Birds
5. Pride and Prejudice
6. The Long Winter
7. The Restorer series by Sharon Hinck
8. Sherlock Holmes
9. The Bible
10. A big fat notebook to record my daily existence
"Summer is coming quickly - what 2011 summer release are you are most looking forward to?"
Okay, I really stink at paying attention to new releases. I can barely keep up with what is already published. I do know that I wait breathlessly, every year, for the new Stephanie Plum installment in June....
Happy Hopping Everyone!

Hey there! You have some books I've been meaning to read on your list, like A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. :) I am your newest follower too! Please hop on over to my awesome-sauce blog to follow me too, thanks!

Hey, Belle! Thanks for the visit. :) Another Pride & Prejudice reader! I could re-read that book a hundred times over. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe new Stephanie Plum is on my list too although I am probably going to wait for the paperback release.
ReplyDeleteI saw you listed Thorn Birds. Have always meant to read that book. Love Gone With The Wind.
Pride and Prejudice is on a lot of lists today. It's one I could read over and over however. I haven't checked out any of Stephanie Plum's books, but I keep hearing about them so I may have to. Happy reading, and have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm an old follower hopping through. What a great list of books to take - I didn't even think to take a blank notebook! I have been told by many people that I simply *must* read the Stephanie Plum series. Have a great weekend.

Hi! Old follower stopping by. Haven't read them, but I think you have a great list there. I think it was really hard to choose! And I actually didn't think of the Bible until starting looking at other blogs, but I'd definitely bring it. :) Same with a lot of other books!
